Option 1 : Contraction joints
Contraction joints are provided along the transverse direction to take care of the contraction of concrete slab due to its natural shrinkage.
Pin joints is the joint which can only resist shear force and axial load but cannot able to resist bending moment.
Expansion joints is the joints able to safely absorb expansion or contraction at some extent cause due to weather or temperature effect.
Construction joint: Construction joints are provided whenever the construction work stops temporarily. The joint direction could be either along the transverse or longitudinal direction.
