Option 4 : All options are correct
Friction is a force that resists one surface from sliding or rolling over another. Therefore, it can be said that friction only occurs when two surfaces are in relative motion. There are a number of ways to reduce friction:
1) Make the surfaces smoother (e.g. by polishing)
2) Lubrication
3) Make the object more streamlined
4) Reduce the forces acting on the surfaces.
5) Decreasing the area of contact between the two surfaces (ref NCERT)
Ex. A cycle with tyres full of air is easy to ride because of minimum surface contact with the road but those tyres when get flat then it's too hard to ride the cycle.
