- The 73rd constitutional amendment lead to the creation and the addition of the 11th schedule to the Indian constitution.
- This was done in the year1992 and lists the powers, authority and responsibility of Panchayats in India. It also provided Constitutional status to the Panchayati Raj Institutions through insertion of Article 243 to Part IX of Indian Constitution.
