Option 1 : Both statements are required

I. J is third to the right of K which is second to the right of L → insufficient (as no information about position of M is obtained)

II. N is opposite to M → insufficient (as no information about immediate left position of M is obtained)

On combining both statements → The diagram for given arrangement will be:

So, immediate left of M is I.
