- In the Vedic Age, there were around 33 gods who were classified into three categories - Terrestrial, celestial and intermediate.
- Terrestrial gods were Prithvi, Agni, Soma etc. whereas Intermediate / aerial gods were Indra, Rudra, Vayu etc.
- Daus, Surya etc. were considered as the celestial gods.
