  • According to Article 158 of the Indian Constitution, in order to become the Governor, one should be at least 35 years of age apart from being an Indian citizen. 
  • He or she should not hold any office of profit or should not be a Member of the Legislature of the Union or any other state. 
  • If any member of the legislature is appointed as the Governor, he ceases to hold that post once he is appointed as the Governor. 
  • The term of a Governor's office is five years.
