Apart from two states, it is directly administered by the Union Government and that is why it is a Union Territory (UT) as well.
Chandigarh serves as the capital of the UT of Chandigarh also.
Delhi is the capital of Delhi whereas Daman is the capital of Daman and Diu (UT).
Pondicherry is also the capital of the UT of Pondicherry.
