Option 2 : 9000 m3

Depth of river = d = 3 m, Breadth of the river = b = 36 m

Rate of flow of river = 5 km/h = (5 × 1000)/60 m/min = 250/3 m/min

⇒ Length of the river per minute = l = 250/3 m

∴ Volume of water that runs into the sea per minute = l × b × d = (250/3) × 36 × 3 = 9000 m³
