Option 2 : Goa
- Goa was the headquarter of Portuguese in India.
- Portuguese established their 1st headquarter in Cochin(Kochi), later in 1510, it was transferred to Goa.
- Goa was annexed by India in 1961 until that it was controlled by Portuguese.
Kochi:-
- It was one of the major trade routes of India, especially for Spice Trade.
- It is part of the Ernakulam district of Kerala.
Mahe:-
- It was part of French India.
- Now it is a part of Pondicherry( Union Territory).
- Mahe is surrounded by Kerala.
Calicut:-
- Now it is known as Kozhikode and is part of Kerala.
- It was a major trade route for cotton and spices.
- On 20 may 1498 Vasco de gama landed in Calicut.
