Option 2 : B
The error lies in part (B) of the sentence
- 'Are' will replace 'is'
- When two subjects are joined with ‘or/nor’ the verb must agree with the subject nearest to it.
- Example - Neither the director nor the actors are following the line closely.
- If the second subject is plural then the verb must be in the plural form and vice-versa (Here, the second subject is new employees which is plural; hence, the verb must be used in plural form)
Correct sentence-‘ Management or new employees are responsible for this loss.’
Hinglish
- 'Are' 'is' की जगह लेगा।
- जब दो विषयों को 'or/nor' से जोड़ा जाता है तो क्रिया को उसके निकटतम विषय से सहमत होना चाहिए।
- उदाहरण: Neither the director nor the actors are following the line closely.
- यदि दूसरा विषय बहुवचन है तो क्रिया बहुवचन रूप में होनी चाहिए और इसके विपरीत (यहाँ, दूसरा विषय new employees है जो बहुवचन है; इसलिए, क्रिया को बहुवचन रूप में प्रयोग किया जाना चाहिए)
सही वाक्य - Management or new employees are responsible for this loss.’
