Characteristics of Fire Bricks:

1. Composition: Silica- 60-96 %, Alumina- 2-36 % and others (lime, magnesia, iron oxide- 2-5 %)

2. Colour- White or Yellowish

3. Weight- 3 Kg each

4. Water absorption value: 4-10 %

5. Types: 3 Types

(i) Acid Refractories: E.g. Ordinary Fire Brick, Silica Brick etc.
