Option 4 : 12

Given,

3x – 2y = 13

kx – 8x = 40

Formula:

The equations a₁x + b₁y + c = 0 and a₂x + b₂y + c = 0 has no solution

If a₁/a₂ = b₁/b₂

Calculation:

According to the question

3/k = 2/8

⇒ 3/k = 1/4

∴ k = 12
