Number of students in city B = 124

Number of students in city C = 108

Number of students in city D = 81

Number of students in city E = 148

Ratio of candidates passed and failed in city A= 3 : 2 = 3 + 2 = 5

Ratio of candidates passed and failed in city B = 16 : 15 = 16 + 15 = 31

Ratio of candidates passed and failed in city C = 7 : 5 = 7 + 5 =12

Ratio of candidates passed and failed in city D = 5 : 4 = 5 + 4 = 9

Ratio of candidates passed and failed in city E = 17 : 20 = 17 + 20 = 37

Passed percentage in city A = (3/5) × 75 = 45

Passed percentage in city C = (7/12) × 108 = 63

Total number of students passed in city A and C = 45 + 63 = 108

Number of failed students in city B = (15/31) × 124 = 60

Number of failed students in city E = (20/37)× 148 = 80

Total number of students failed in city B and E = 60+ 80 = 140
