Given:

Area of square = 64 m2

Length of field = 8√2 of square diagonal

Formula used:

Area of square = (side)2

Diagonal of square = √

Area of rectangular field = length × breadth

Calculation:

Area of square = 64

⇒ (side)2 = 64

⇒ side = 8 cm

Diagonal = √ = 8√2 cm

⇒ Length of rectangular field = 8√2 × 8 √2

⇒ 128 cm

Breadth of rectangular field = 128 × (1/2) = 64 cm

⇒ Area of field = 128 × 64

⇒ 8192 cm2

∴ Rate of paving the rectangular field is Rs. 4096 i.e. (8192 × 0.5)
