Option 4 : 96 cm2

Given:

Circumference of circle = 176 cm

Breadth of rectangle = 12 cm

Condition:

The radius of the circle is equal to the side of the square.     …… (1)

The length of a rectangle is 2/7 of the side of a square.    ….. (2)

Formula:

Circumference of circle = 2πr

Area of rectangle = l × b

Let the length of a rectangle be 'l' cm and the breadth of a rectangle be 'b' cm and

Let ‘a’ be the side of the square

Let ‘r’ be the radius of the circle

Now,

Circumference of circle = 176

⇒ 2πr = 176

⇒ 2 × 22/7 × r = 176

⇒ 44/7 × r = 176

⇒ r/7 = 4

⇒ r = 28 cm

Now,

By using the above condition (1)

⇒ 28 = a

Now,

By using the above condition (2)

The length of the rectangle = 2/7 × 28

⇒ 2 × 4

8 cm

Now,

Area of rectangle = 8 × 12

⇒ 96 cm2

∴ The Area of the rectangle is 96 cm2
