Option 1 : Rs. 12000
Given:
Amount borrowed by A from B = Rs. 9000 at the rate of 15% for 2 years
A added some more money yo the borrowed sum and lent it to C at 20% for 3 years
Gain of A in the whole transaction = Rs. 4500
Formula used:
S.I = PRT/100
Where, P = Principal,
R = Rate%
T = Time
Calculation:
S.I on amount borrowed by A = Rs. (9000 × 15 × 2)/100 = Rs. 2700
Let amount lent by A to C be Rs. x
So, S.I on lent money to C = Rs. (x × 20 × 3)/100 = Rs. 3x/5
According to the question,
(3x/5) – 2700 = 4500
⇒ 3x/5 = 7200
⇒ x = Rs. 12,000
∴ A lent Rs. 12,000 to C
