Successive discount percentage = x + y – xy/100

Calculation:

Marked price of a goods = Rs. 100

According to the question,

Successive discount percentage = x + y – xy/100

⇒ 10 + 5 – (10 × 5)/100

⇒ 15 – 0.5

⇒ 14.5%

The amount paid by the customer

⇒ 100(100 – 14.5)/100

⇒ Rs. 85.5
