Option 3 : 16 days

Given:

A completes the work in 20 days

B completes the same work in 15 days

B left the work after 3 days

Formula Used:

Work = Efficiency × Time

Calculation:

Total work of A and B is LCM of 20, 15

⇒ Total work = 60

Efficiency of A = 60/20

⇒ 3

Efficiency of B = 60/15

⇒ 4

They worked together for 3 days then after B left

Remaining Work = 60 – 3(3 + 4)

⇒ 60 – 21

⇒ 39

Remaining work is completed by A, Time taken = 39/3

⇒ 13 days

Total time taken to complete the whole work = 3 + 13 days

⇒ 16 days

∴ The whole work is completed in 16 days
