পাবদা মাছের স্বাভাবিক ভাবেই প্রজনন হয়। এই মাছ ২০ গ্রাম থেকে ৪০ গ্রাম হলেই এরা প্রজননক্ষম হয়ে পড়ে, তখন এরা বিল থেকে পাশের নদীতে জড়ো হয় ও ডিম পাড়ে।
