উত্তর গোলার্ধে মেরু বায়ু সুমেরুদেশীয় উচ্চচাপ বলয় থেকে সুমেরুবৃত্ত প্রদেশীয় নিম্নচাপ বলয়ের দিকে সারাবছর একই গতিবেগে ফেরেলের সূত্র অনুসারে বেঁকে প্রবাহিত হয় । একে উত্তর – পূর্ব মেরু বায়ু (North-East Polar Wind) বলে ।
