দক্ষিণ গোলার্ধে মেরু বায়ু কুমেরুদেশীয় উচ্চচাপ বলয় থেকে কুমেরুবৃত্ত প্রদেশীয় নিম্নচাপ বলয়ের দিকে সারাবছর একই গতিবেগে ফেরেলের সূত্র অনুসারে বেঁকে প্রবাহিত হয় । একে দক্ষিণ – পূর্ব মেরু বায়ু (North-East Polar Wind) বলে ।
