"সংবাদ পত্র হলো জনগণের সংসদ"।আধুনিক সভ্যতায় সংবাদ পত্র গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করছে।ইহাকে বিশ্বের আয়না হিসেবে অভিহিত করা হয়।আমারা অবশ্যই প্রতিদিন সংবাদ পত্র পড়ার অভ্যাস করা উচিত।আমাদের শিক্ষার জন্য প্রয়োজনীয় সাধারণ জ্ঞান অর্জন করতে ইহা আমাদেরকে সাহায্য করে।সংবাদ পত্র পড়া ব্যতিত কেউ বহি-বিশ্বের সাথে যোগাযোগ রক্ষা করতে পারে না।কেবল বইয়ের জ্ঞান আমাদের জীবন সংগ্রামের জন্য (জীবনকে এগিয়ে নিতে) যথেষ্ট নয়।যে ব্যক্তি দৈনিক সংবাদ পত্র  পাঠ করে না সে কুয়ার ব্যাঙগ এর মত।
