Internet is the latest discovery of science and the greatest advancement in the field of communication. It is the computerized process with telephone set. To get internet connection, it requires a modern telephone line and a maintained by its own number. There are two types of internet. They are on-line internet and off- line internet. One can get internet connection from three networking systems. They are LAN (local area network), MAN (metropolitan area network) WAN (world wide area network). Now-a-days an internet is an internet is of great use to us. It has made the world smaller and brought the world within our reach. We can get information on every matter within a very short time. It has widened our knowledge and made us more thirsty for the unknown. It is a miracle. It works like Aladdin’s magic lamp.

It is a milestone In the modern world of communication. Many educational institutions are greatly benefitted through the use of internet. Internet based e-commerce has become very popular to the customers. Because the customers can buy or choose anything without going to market. Students can go through books from the libraries without going there. In the near future, the students will be able to take their class lecture from anywhere of the world through Internet. In Bangladesh Internet has opened a new dimension in-our communication system. But the use of Internet in our country is still expensive. Both government and private sectors should work together to make internet cheap so that everybody can use it.

There are two types of Internet such as Dial up and Broad Band. Internet has great usefulness. To get appropriate information a person has to communicate in the appropriate address. One can also go to a search engine like Yahoo, Goggle for finding particular page or a piece of information. A search engine is a system through which you can search for information on Web pages containing that information. By using Internet students can go through several books from the libraries without going there. They can seek information regarding admission to different foreign universities. But it is a matter to sorrow that many people of Bangladesh do not have still access to Internet because it is still costly and not easily available.
