A and B start a business with 15,000 and 20,000. And their efficiency is 7 : 3 respectively. They divide their first-year profit according to their amount and second year they divide their profit according to their efficiency. If their first-year profit is 28,000 and their second-year profit is 20,000 then what is the difference between A’s complete profit and B’s complete profit?
A and B start a business with 15,000 and 20,000. And their efficiency is 7 : 3 respectively. They divide their first-year profit according to their amount and second year they divide their profit according to their efficiency. If their first-year profit is 28,000 and their second-year profit is 20,000 then what is the difference between A’s complete profit and B’s complete profit? Correct Answer 4,000
Given:
The amount invests by A = 15,000
The amount invests by B = 20,000
Efficiency of A and B = 7 : 3
Profit of first year = 28,000
Profit of second year = 20,000
Calculations:
The ratio of amount between A and B = A : B
⇒ 15,000 : 20,000
⇒ 3 : 4
∵ The first year profit divided according to their amount
∴ The first year profit of A = (3 / 7) × 28,000 = 12,000
Similarly the first year profit of B = (4 / 7) × 28000 = 16,000
∵ The second year profit divided according to their efficiency
∴ The second year profit of A = (7 / 10) × 20000 = 14000
Similarly the second year profit of B = (3 / 10) × 20000 = 6000
∴ A’s complete profit = 12,000 + 14,000 = 26,000
Similarly B’s complete profit = 16000 + 6000 = 22,000
Hence the difference between A’s complete profit and B’s complete profit = 26,000 – 22,000
⇒ 4000
