Roma and Sima started a business by investing in the ratio of 5 : 9. If 30% of the profit are used to buy a shop and remaining amount is divided in the proportion of their capital. If share of Roma is Rs. 9800,  what is the share of Sima? Correct Answer 17640

Given:

Investing in the ratio b/w Roma and Sima = 5 : 9

Profit percent used to buy shop = 30% from the total profit

Calculation:

Let total profit = 1000x

After buying the shop, remaining profit = (100x ─ 30x) = 70x

∴ share of Roma = 70x × (5/14)

∴ share of Sima = 70x × (9/14)

According to the question,

⇒ 70x × (5/14) = 9800

⇒ x = 392

∴ Share of Sima = 392 × 70 × (9/14) = Rs. 17640

⇒ Share of Sima = 9/5 × 9800 = Rs. 17640
