As, Manoj reached the Bus stop at 8 : 40 am and,

Time taken regularly  to reach the Stop = 10 minutes

So, he left  his home at 8 : 40 am - 10 minutes = 8 : 30 am

But, he left his home 15 minutes earlier than the usual time.

So, usual time = 8 : 30 + 15 minutes = 8 : 45 am

Hence, option 2 is the correct answer.
