Ratio of length and breadth of a rectangle = 7 : 4

Formula used:

Perimeter of a square = 4 × side

Perimeter of rectangle = 2( length + breadth)

Area of square = side2

Calculation:

Length of rectangle = 7x 

Breadth of rectangle = 4x

4x = 28 units

⇒ x = 7

Length of rectangle = 7 ×  7

⇒ 49 units

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(28 + 49)

⇒ 154 units

Perimeter of square = twice the perimeter rectangle 

⇒ 2 × 154 = 308 units

4 × side  = 308 units

Side = 77 units

Area of square = 77 × 77

⇒ 5929 sq.units

∴ The area of a square is 5929 sq.units.
