Given,
Radius of circular track, r = 700metre
Number of revolutions = number of stoppage
= 2
Time taken = 44 minutes
Formula used, Circumference of circle = 2πr
Distance = Speed/Time
Calculation,
Time taken = 44 minutes
= 44 × 60 seconds
= 2640 seconds
Distance covered in 2 revolutions = 2 × (2πr)
⇒ Speed × Time = 4πr
⇒ Speed × 2640 = 4 × (22/7) ×700
⇒ Speed = 8800/2640
⇒ Speed = 3.33 m/sec (approximately)
∴ Speed = 3.33 m/sec
