Total number of questions = 90

Marks for every correct answer = 5

Marks deducted for every incorrect answer = 2

Total marks scored = 387

Calculation:

Let the number of incorrect responses be x

⇒ Number of correct responses = 90 - x

Now as we know total marks scored = 387

⇒ 5 × (90 - x) - 2 × (x) = 387

⇒ 450 - 5x - 2x = 387

⇒ x = (450 - 387)/7 = 9

Hence, option 1 is correct.
