⇒ (Sanjay’ share of profit) ∶ (Suraj’s share of profit)

= (40000 × 12) ∶ (30000 × 8)

⇒ 10000 ∶ (Suraj’s share of profit) = 2 : 1

⇒ Suraj’s share of profit = 10000/2 = Rs. 5000
