A jar contains 100 biscuits. Aman ate 6 biscuits more than Akash, while Akash ate double the biscuits eaten by Amit, but Amit ate 4 biscuits less than Ankit. If 12 biscuits remained in the jar, how many biscuits did Ankit ate?
A jar contains 100 biscuits. Aman ate 6 biscuits more than Akash, while Akash ate double the biscuits eaten by Amit, but Amit ate 4 biscuits less than Ankit. If 12 biscuits remained in the jar, how many biscuits did Ankit ate? Correct Answer 17
Let no. of biscuits eaten by Ankit be ‘x’
No. of biscuits eaten by Amit = x - 4
No. of biscuits eaten by Akash = 2(x - 4) = 2x - 8
No. of biscuits eaten by Aman = 2(x - 4) + 6 = 2x - 2
Hence,
⇒ x + x - 4 + 2x - 8 + 2x - 2 + 12 = 100
⇒ 6x - 2 = 100
⇒ x = 102/6 = 17
∴ Ankit ate 17 biscuits
