Given,

Salim’s 1 day’s work = 1/30

Javed’s 1 day’s work = 1/45

If they work together then work will be completed in =

= (1/30) + (1/45)

= 1/18

(Salim + Javed)’s 1 day’s work = 1/18

If they work together then work will be completed in 18 days.

Fraction of work completed in 15 days =

= 15 × (1/18)

= 5/6

Remaining fraction of work after 15 days =

= 1 - (5/6)

= 1/6

Remaining fraction of work after 15 days = 1/6

Salim will complete 1/6th of work in =

= (1/6) × (30)

= 5

∴ Salim will complete remaining work in 5days.
