In a bag there are 600 coins of 25 paise and 1200 coins of 50 paise. If 12% coins of 25 paisa, and 24% coins of 50 paisa are taken out of the bag, then how much percentage of the total amount has been taken out from the bag? Correct Answer 21.6%

Value of 25p coins = 600/4 = 150 rupees

Value of 50p coins = 1200/2 = 600 rupees

12% of 600 is 600 × 12/100 = 72 coins of 25 paisa means 72/4 = 18 rupees

24% of 1200 is 1200 × 24/100 =288 coins of 50 paisa means 288/2 = 144 rupees

Total amount taken out of the bag = 144 + 18 = 162

⇒ 162/750 × 100 = 21.6%
