This year both the firms Apollo groups & CCL products increased their sales by 20%. This year the sales of CCL products is five times the sales of  Maruti Suzuki. How much were the sales of Maruti Suzuki last year is the total sales remained constant over the two years period? Correct Answer 25%

Let the last year sales of Apollo groups = 100

∴ Sales of CCL products = 100 + 10% of 100 = 110

ATQ,

Sales of Apollo this year = 120% of 100 = 120

sales of CCL products this year = 120% of 110 = 132

sales of Maruti Suzuki this year  = 132/5 = 26.4

Let X be the sales of Maruti Suzuki last year.

∵ the sales of the three companies is same for both year.

(100 + 110 + X) = (120 + 132 + 26.4

⇒ X = 68.4

Required percentage,

(26.4/278.4) × 100 = 25%
