Given below are two quantities named A and B. Based on the given information, you have to determine the relation between the two quantities. You should use the given data and your knowledge of Mathematics to choose among the possible answers. Quantity 1: A motorbike having the wheel of diameter of 21 cm moving at speed of 33 centimeter per second. Find in 20 mins how many revolutions the wheel will complete? Quantity 2: The length and width of a rectangle are 24 and 7 cm. if the diagonal of this rectangle is the side of a square then find the area of the square.
Correct Answer Quantity 1 < Quantity 2
Quantity 1: Let the diameter of the wheel of the motorbike be 21 cm.
perimeter of the wheel = 2πr where 2r = diameter of the wheel.
= 21 × 22/7
= 66 cm.
Revolutions per second = speed of the wheel/Perimeter of the wheel
= 33/66
= 1/2 Rev per second.
or 1 rev per 2 second.
20 mins = 20 × 60 seconds = 1200 seconds
revolutions done in 20 mins = 1200/2 = 600.
Quantity 2:
Diagonal (D) of the rectangle using Pythagoras theorem,
D2 = L2 + B2 Where L and B are the length and breadth of the rectangle.
D2 = 242 + 72
D = 25 cm.
Area of the square = side × side
⇒ 25 × 25
⇒ 625 cm2
∴ Quantity 2 > Quantity 1.
