A, B and C together earn Rs. 1080 in 6 days. A and C can earn Rs. 600 in 5 days. B and C can earn Rs. 910 in 7 days. How much amount does C can earn per day? Correct Answer Rs. 70

GIVEN:

Total Amount earned by A, B and C = Rs. 1080

Total number of days worked by A, B and C together = 6 days

Amount earned by A and C = Rs. 600

Total number of days worked by A and C together = 5 days

Amount earned by B and C = Rs. 910

Total number of days worked by B and C together = 7 days

CONCEPT:

wages ∝ work

wages ∝ number of working days (∵ Efficiency is same)

CALCULATION:

Amount Earned in one day = Total amount/Number of working days

⇒ Amount Earned by A, B and C in one day = 1080/6 = 180    ---(i)

⇒ Amount Earned by A and C in one day = 600/5 = 120    ---(ii)

⇒ Amount Earned by B and C in one day = 910/7 = 130     ---(ii)

On performing (ii) + (iii) – (i), we get

⇒ Amount Earned by C in one day = Amount Earned by (A + B + 2C) in one day – Amount Earned by (A + B + C) in one day

⇒ Amount Earned by C in one day = (120 + 130) – 180

⇒ Amount Earned by C in one day = 70

∴ Amount Earned by C per day is Rs. 70
