The statement 1 and 2 are incorrect. Hence Option 1 is Correct.
- Aurangzeb discontinued the practice of jharoka darshan or showing himself to the public from the balcony and considered this practice against Islam.
- In initial years of his reign for a short period, he exempted the Muslim traders from paying cess but when the same was misused he reimposed but kept it half of what was charged from others.
- Aurangzeb annexed Golconda and Bijapur in 1686 AD. Hence, Statement 3 is correct.
- Though, the annexations of Bijapur and Golconda did not benefit the Mughal empire because it was difficult to administer them as they were too far away from Delhi (capital of Mughal empire).
Trivia:
- Tuladan is the practice of weighing the emperor in Gold and Jharokha Darshan was a daily practice of addressing the public audience (darshan) at the balcony (jharokha) at the forts and palaces of the emperor.
- Both the practices were started by his great grandfather Mughal emperor Akbar.
