Geeta started a business with capital of Rs 7000 after some time and Seeta joined as a partner with the investment of Rs. 6000. At the end of the year the profit of Geeta is double the profit of Seeta, then after how much time Seeta joined the business? Correct Answer 5 months

Given:

Geeta started a business with capital of Rs 7000

Seeta joined as a partner with the investment of Rs. 6000

Ratio of profit of Seeta and Geeta is 2 : 1

Formula Used:

The ratio of profit earned is equal to the ratio of product of capital invested to the time

Calculation:

Let Seeta invested after T months

Investment of Geeta = Rs. 7000 × 12

Investment of Seeta = Rs. 6000 × (12 – T)

According to the question,

(7000 × 12)/( 6000 × (12 – T)) = 2/1

⇒ 84000 = 144000 – 12000T

⇒ 12000T = 60000

⇒ T = 5

∴ Seeta joined after 5 Months
