Let the number of hundred rupee notes with Sarla be x and the number of fifty rupee notes be y.

∴ x + y = 32 ... (i)

and, 100x + 50y = 2750

∴ 2x + y = 55 ... (ii)

On solving (i) and (ii)

 ∴ 2x + y = 55

∴ x + (x + y) = 55

∴ x + 32 = 55                     

∴ x = 23

Hence, ‘23’ is the correct answer.
