Given:
Dimension of rectangular tank is 120 m × 90 m × 8.5 m
It can be emptied by a pipe with a square cross section of side 25 cm.
Rate of water flow through the pipe is 20 km/h.
Formula used:
Volume of Rectangular shape = length × width × height
Calculation:
Let the time in which the tank will be emptied be T sec
⇒ 20 km/h = (20 × 5/18) sec
Volume of the total water flown through the pipe = volume of Rectangular tank
⇒ 20 × 5/18 × 25/100 × 25/100 × T = 120 × 90 × 85/10
⇒ T = 264384 sec = 73.44 hour = 3.06 days
