If ratio of boys to girl children in community is 7: 8 then how much money is available to build the computer lab? Correct Answer Rs 1,271,250

Given:

Number of students in community = 1500

B: G = 7: 8

Calculation:

Number of girls in community = 1500 × 8/ 15

⇒ Number of girls in community = 800

Number of boys in community = 1500 × 7/ 15

⇒ Number of boys in community = 700

Contribution by boy family = 700

Contribution by girl family = 800

⇒ Total fund collected from family = (800 × 800) + (700 × 700)

⇒ Total fund collected from family = 640,000 + 490,000

⇒ Total fund collected from family = 1,130,000

⇒ Total fund from sponsorship = 1130000/ 8

⇒ Total fund available = 1,130,000 + 141, 250

⇒ Total fund available = 1,271,250

∴ Total fund available is Rs 1,271,250
