⇒ Cube has no face painted = Inner cubes (No colour)

⇒ The total number of cubes without any colour on any side = (n - 2)3

⇒ When n = 8/2 = 4 

⇒ The total number of cubes without any colour on any side = (4 - 2)3 = 23 = 8
