Given :

Abhaya takes 6 hrs to build a doll house and Vinay takes 8 hrs to do the same.

Concept used :

Total time taken to complete work = Total work/Work per unit time 

Calculations :

Total work = LCM of 6 and 8 = 24 units 

Work per hour by Abhaya = 24/6 = 4 units 

Work per hour by Vinay = 24/8 = 3 units 

Their total work together = 4 + 3 = 7 units 

Time taken by them to complete the work(to build a doll house) = 24/7 hours

Total houses constructed in 48 hours = (48)/24/7

⇒ 14 houses

∴ Option 2 will be the correct choice.
