A certain sum of money is sufficient to pay M's wages for 20 days and N's wages for 30days. For how many days the same amount of money is sufficient to pay wages for both? Correct Answer 12 days
Calculation:
Let amount of money be Rs.a.
M's 1 day's wages = Rs.(a/20)
N's 1 day's wages = Rs.(a/30)
(M + N)'s 1 days wages = a/20 + a/30 = Rs.(a/12)
The same amount of money is sufficient for a/(a/12) = 12 days
∴ The same amount of money is sufficient to pay both for 12 days.
