A samosa seller discusses his business situation with his friend. He says, between last year and this year, he has tripled his income. He sells each samosa for Rs. 20. He made a profit of Rs. 1,20,000 in the previous year. This year, on an average, how many samosas did he sell per month? Correct Answer 1500
Given:
A samosa seller sold a samosa = Rs. 20
His profit = Rs. 1,20,000
Formula used:
Average = Sum of observations/Number of observations
Calculation:
According to the question
A samosa seller income has tripled previous year = Rs. (3 × 1,20,000)
⇒ Rs. 3,60,000
Average income of samosa seller this year = Rs. (3,60,000/12)
⇒ Rs. 30,000
Samosa he sold per month = Rs. (30,000/20)
⇒ Rs. 1500
∴ Required samosa he sold per month is Rs. 1500
