She cut the cake into two halves and kept one half for herself and gave the rest to her friends. Later two of her friends also arrived. She got happy to see them and divided her part into three equal pieces. How much part of the original cake she could eat? Correct Answer \(\frac{1}{6}\)
Calculation:
Let her five friends are A, B, C, D, and E.
So, the total number of people is 6 = (Rekha + 5 friends)
Let us assume there were 6 pieces in the cake.
While cutting, 3 friends and Rekha was present, the cake was divided into 2 equal parts.
Pieces of cake with Rekha now = 3
Three friends have 3 pieces.
Now two of her friends joined her again, and out of 3 pieces with her she gave 2 pieces to them.
Now she has only one piece left with her.
So, she ate only one part of the original cake i.e 6 pieces.
So she ate 1/6 of the original cake.[ alt="F2 Madhuri Teaching 26.04.2022 D1" src="//storage.googleapis.com/tb-img/production/22/04/F2_Madhuri_Teaching_26.04.2022_D1.png" style="width: 168px; height: 168px;">
