Nitin walks 0.2 km towards north. Then he turns right and walks 0.3 km. Then he turns right and walks 0.35 km. Then he turns left and walks 0.15 km. Finally he turns left and walks 0.15 km. Where is he standing now with respect to his initial position?
Nitin walks 0.2 km towards north. Then he turns right and walks 0.3 km. Then he turns right and walks 0.35 km. Then he turns left and walks 0.15 km. Finally he turns left and walks 0.15 km. Where is he standing now with respect to his initial position? Correct Answer 0.45 km east
The diagram below shows the path followed by Nitin:
[ alt="F4 Shailendra Rajawat 28-5-2021 Swati D13" src="//storage.googleapis.com/tb-img/production/21/05/F4_Shailendra%20Rajawat_28-5-2021_Swati_D13.png" style="width: 375px; height: 328px;">
So, Nitin is standing at point 'P' which is in East direction with respect to his initial point 'O' and distance of his initial position to his final position = (OK + KP)
= (0.3 + 0.15) = 0.45 km
Hence, "0.45 km east" is the correct answer.
