When a child with a disability first comes to school, the teacher should Correct Answer discuss with the child’s parents to evolve collaborative plans
Learning disability is a neurological disorder which affects the way one receives and processes information. The need for teachers who have both the knowledge and the ability to teach students with disabilities is more critical today than ever before.
Addressing the needs of learners with disabilities:
- Begin with gathering data about the student through classroom-based assessment processes.
- Collaborate with parents and the students to create a student profile to gain the required insight into the unique learning needs of the student.
- Once enough information is gathered, begin with selecting strategies and interventions that best support the student’s learning.
- Adopt classroom communities where all students, including those with diverse needs and abilities, have a sense of personal belonging and achievement.
- Work on the democratic principles of non-discrimination and equal opportunity to promote accessibility to the curriculum that gives all students equal opportunities to learn.
Hence, we conclude that to discuss with the child’s parents to evolve collaborative plans is what a teacher should do when a child with a disability comes.
