A number is divided by a two-digit number and leaves 3 as remainder. If the remainder is 30% of the sum of the digits of the divisor and its unit digit is 6 more than its tenth digit, then find the remainder, when 230 is divide by the two-digit number?

A number is divided by a two-digit number and leaves 3 as remainder. If the remainder is 30% of the sum of the digits of the divisor and its unit digit is 6 more than its tenth digit, then find the remainder, when 230 is divide by the two-digit number? Correct Answer 6

Let the 2 digit number = 10x + y

So, unit digit = y

And tenth digit = x

From the question :

3 = (x + y) × 30/100

x + y = 10      ---- (1)

And,

y – x = 6       ---- (2)

From equations (1) and (2) :

y = 8 and x = 2

So, the two-digit number = 10 × 2 + 8 = 28

Now, if 230 is divided by 28, it leaves a remainder of 6.
