Errors can be understood as follows:
- Errors are a necessary condition in the learning process to give insight into children's thinking.
- Helps the teacher to be aware of their learning styles, to cater them according to their needs.
- Error correction in student's written work is most effective when the teacher points out major errors using symbols and students self-correct help the student to know the mistakes made by him/her and the self-correction of that mistake will also clear his/her concept regarding that topic.
It should be noted that though drill works and practice helps to improve but it cannot be implemented till students’ errors are corrected.
Hence, we conclude that Error correction in students’ written work is most effective when the teacher point out major errors using symbols and students self-correct.
